Monday, 06.01.2009, 02:51am (GMT-4)

Police officer David Smith said he noticed someone trying to hide when he approached the dairy queen on route 8 and pulled over to investigate.

When officer Smith asked the man to identify himself he fled on foot but it only took a few seconds to catch the man since he weighed about 500 lbs and could not run very fast.

Officer Smith said "it was the fastest take down I ever had." Walter Silverman failed to appear in court for his sentencing on May 20, 2009 for failure to pay child support, possession of narcotics, arson   and tax evasion and was released on a $1,000,000 bail waiting his sentencing but fled to Northern Kentucky. When asked why he came to Kentucky Mr. Silverman said he knew he was going to prison for a long time and wanted to see his uncle Carl which is his last known living family member living in California, KY located east of Silver Grove.

Walter Silverman was booked into Campbell Co. Jail and awaiting trial.
