Only one was pronounced dead at the Campbell County Detention Center. That makes 3 inmates to die in 3 weeks which makes people wonder what the real cause of deaths are.The first inmate to die was Dennis Rosenburg, 34, who was transported from the jail's intake area April 19 and pronounced dead after being taken to St. Elizabeth formally St Luke East in Fort Thomas. The second inmate to die was Josie McFall, 30, of Covington, was booked into the jail April 29 and died the evening of May 1 who was found in the jail's dormitory and pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
The third inmate to die was Ernest Dunaway, 46, who died on May 8 who was being treated in the jail's medical ward, where he was being treated for pre-existing conditions.
It was reported that prisoners in the medical ward are routinely checked and a record log is kept on all inmates.
All three inmates were in jail on either a drug charge or a drug-related charge such as possession of paraphernalia, he said.
The department has already met with Kentucky Department of Corrections officials and Southern Health Partners representatives, the jail's health-care providers, to review the deaths and will release their finding in the near future.
