Before him was a large hole in the ground that seemed to be an endless pit so he went to his home and got a spot light and went back to inspect the hole a little closer and all he was thinking about is how in the world was he going to fill the hole in.When he pointed the flashlight into the hole he could not believe what he was seeing. Before him was a large room that was lined with creek rock and wood timber for the roof and the deepest end was about 10 ft deep.
Mr. Baker decided to inspect the inside of the room and was surprised to find 20 small wooden crates.
He said he could not wait to open one up and when he tried to lift one of the boxes it broke open and he could not believe his eyes as the gold bars and coins fell to the floor of the small room.
He immediately went home and called his wife and told her to come home. She works part time at Campbell Co. Schools.
When she arrived home she saw all the gold bars and coins stacked up on the floor of their kitchen and just stood there not knowing what to do or say. "I could not believe what I was seeing" said Trish.
In all there were 92 Gold bars with an average weight of 18lbs each and over 1000 gold and silver coins with some as early as 1830.
The estimated worth of all his treasure is 4.6 Million Dollars and will be auctioned off later this year.
