Vince Carter isn’t planning to walk away from the NBA.

The guard-forward will be a free agent this summer and said after the Memphis Grizzlies were eliminated from the playoffs that he wants to play in the 2017-18 season, which would be the 20th of his career.

Carter, 40, said before this season that he hoped to play two more seasons and said he’s holding firm to that goal.

“I said to myself ‘I want to play 15 years.’ I don’t know where I got that from. And then I got to 15 years and I kept going. I never capped it, but at the same time I’ve had a lot of players remind me of things I’ve said. I’m still saying ‘two more years and I’m done,'” he said, according to RealGM.com.

Carter, who averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 73 games last season, said his body feels better now than it did when he was 25.

“I could play three more rounds of basketball right now,” he said, according to RealGM.com.

The eight-time All-Star and 1998-99 rookie of the year said he hopes to re-sign with the Grizzlies, for whom he has played for the past three seasons.

“I hear people say all the time, ‘Go chase the ring.’ That word ‘chase’ is tough for me,” Carter said, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “I’m comfortable here, my family is comfortable here, we’re building something exciting and great and I enjoy going to work with these guys every day.”
