Lillard, 27, has missed the past five games with a right hamstring strain. He sustained the injury on Dec. 20 while playing against the San Antonio Spurs. The Trail Blazers have gone 3-2 in his absence.
Although he was healthy enough, Portland (19-17) opted against playing Lillard in Monday night’s overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls so that he wouldn’t face a back-to-back set of games upon his return.
The two-time NBA All-Star is averaging 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
Cleveland (24-12) also has a point guard returning to action Tuesday night in Isaiah Thomas. The 5-foot-7 guard will make his season debut after rehabbing a hip injury.
