The Green Bay Packers are expected to hire former Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine as their defensive coordinator, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Pettine would replace Dom Capers, who was fired after the team’s season-ending 35-11 loss to the Detroit Lions. Capers had run the Packers’ defense since the 2009 season.

Green Bay’s defense finished 22nd this season, the fourth time it has finished in the bottom third of the NFL in the past seven years, including a dead-last ranking in 2011.

Pettine went 10-22 in his two seasons as Cleveland’s head coach, from 2014-15.
