CHICAGO — Golden State Warriors rookie forward Jordan Bell was knocked out of Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls after spraining his left ankle on the first play.

The team announced that X-rays were negative and that Bell will undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Bell went up to contest a driving dunk by Bulls center Robin Lopez with 11:36 to play in the first quarter and landed awkwardly.

He immediately grabbed his ankle and writhed in pain.

Soon, Bell was surrounded by his teammates, the Warriors coaches and medical staff.

Bell was helped to his feet and left the court in a wheelchair.

The Bulls drafted Bell 38th overall this past summer but then sold his draft rights to the Warriors for $3.5 million.

He was averaging 5.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 14.8 minutes entering Wednesday’s game at the United Center.
